Bhurijana Das’ life is a testament to his unwavering commitment to Krishna consciousness and his contributions to ISKCON’s educational development.

Bhurijana Das’ journey began in the late 1960s when he started chanting the Hare Krishna mantra while studying at the University of Buffalo. Shortly after, he had the privilege of meeting his spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and received initiation from him in 1968. Prabhupada recognized Bhurijana Das’ sincere devotion and entrusted him with pioneering the Krishna consciousness movement in Japan, Hongkong and during their last meeting, Srila Prabhupada entrusted Bhurijana Das with the task of developing ISKCON’s educational system.

Bhurijana Das initiated Vrindavan Institute for Higher Education (VIHE), led to the organization of the Bhakti-Sastri course, covering essential texts such as Bhagavad-gita As It Is, The Nectar of Devotion, The Nectar of Instruction, and Sri Isopanisad. He has also authored several books, including The Art of Teaching, Surrender Unto Me (a study of the Bhagavad-gita), Studying Srimad-Bhagavatam, and My Glorious Master (a memoir of his time with Srila Prabhupada).
